Colour theory

  • August 30, 2010

Begin at the beginning, it all stems from colour.

Wallpaper or wallcoverings have long been at the forefront of design. Designers working with this space explore the possible combinations of colour, texture, pattern, and materials. In this post we explore the dimnension of colour with the man often referred to as the father of colour theory: Josef Albers. The Josef Albers foundation sought the revelation and evocation of vision through Art.  Josef and his wife Anni treated art as if it were a religion, believing the qualities of art could be those of morality and honesty.

Here is a short but insightful look into Josef Albers brought to you by Dwell magazine.
